The hourly probe
What it measures
Flags say what a hook can do. The probe says what it did the last time someone asked. Every hour, for each hook with a swap in the last 7 days, it takes the busiest pool and quotes an exact-in swap each way with Uniswap's V4 Quoter (0x8dc178efb8111bb0973dd9d722ebeff267c98f94).
1slot0
StateView gives the price, the tick and the LP fee.
2Liquidity
StateView gives in-range liquidity.
3Quote
The Quoter runs the real swap path, hook included, as an eth_call.
4Compare
Quote against mid-price minus LP fee: the gap is the take.
How big the test swap is
One hundred-thousandth of the pool's in-range virtual reserves on the input side, so the swap itself moves the price by about 0.001%. Any gap bigger than that is the hook. Nothing is signed and no token moves; an eth_call only simulates.
Reading the result
- Taken: the share of the expected output that did not arrive, in percent. A hook that charges its own fee shows it here even when the pool's LP fee is zero.
- Reverted: the quote failed. Hooks that need data from their own app revert on a plain quote, and so do hooks that block swaps. A revert in the last 24 h costs 15 points.
- Gas: the Quoter's gas estimate for the swap, hook code included.
